Observations of Classic Furniture
Soriana Lounge Chair:

I was drawn to the form of the lounge chair in the showroom of W. Atelier the industrial area in Henderson Park in Singapore, where all three drawings are produced in and by the products held within W. Atelier. The structure of the metal frame almost seems like it is keeping a cloud together; this interesting dynamic led to me choosing a very quick sketch using the front and an isometric-like perspective approach to capture the form of the lounge chair. I used lighter shades, paying more attention to the lounge chair's lightness due to its colors and expression. I used a bright red color pencil to capture the metal frame emphasizing the enemata phenomenon that is created.
Chaise Longue À Réglage Continu:
This observational drawing presents the Chaise Longue À Réglage Continue in two distinct perspectives, the perspective on the left is almost drawn into an isometric point of view that expresses the natural curves, the one I saw was in black leather, I refine the details in capturing the loosened leather on the surface of the backrest and seat. I found this very interesting because this also shows the timeline of the chaise lounge being used. In the second perspective, I focus on the close-up perspective of how the chaise lounge would look from an unusual angle that also portrays the characteristics of the material. I approach each sketch by establishing vanishing points and different perspectives. Observing the underlying structure and form that build the fundamentals of my observation drawing.
Esosoft Sofa by Cassina:
This drawing was drawn by the unique characteristics of how the armrest is not a typical kind that is mirrored. As I begin to approach capturing the sofa from 3 different perspectives, pay attention to the pillows and the structure of the vanishing points. During this piece, I kept on correcting the size of the structure that needed to be visually correct, along with the composition of the sofa. I tend not to erase my mistakes during this process, as I can examine the different lines and forms I produced into the structure that I am satisfied with, and by erasing these lines produced I am not able to look at my natural thought process in the progression of the observation. I include the necessary details that show the form and structure without shadows to portray the 3D product, as I can capture the front, side, and back.
